For most school administrators and assistants, graphic design work is not the best use of their skills and time. But most schools can’t afford to hire a professional designer every time they need something, so they end up doing it themselves anyway.
That’s where we can help. We will design a template for a calendar, assembly, document, slideshow, etc. for a reasonable one-time fee, and then hand it off to you in a format you can edit yourself from year to year.
We worked with Cary Christian School’s staff to design this 24″x36″ wall calendar of the school year in Microsoft Word. They had the great idea to divide it into four columns–one for each quarter–so we ran the months together in each column (alternating background colors for each month and dividing up the summer, fall, winter, and spring breaks) to make it as simple as possible to read. It’s now hanging in offices around the school.
“Wait, you can make that kind of thing in Word?”
Yes, we can. We usually work in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, but we use Word when we want to be able to pass on a template as a .DOCX file so school staff can update it in the future. We’ve done this for schools and other businesses when designing templates for assembly and graduation programs, special documents, and even restaurant menus.
